Unfortunately, sports which involve a large degree of contact present the constant risk of suffering a concussion or a serious head injury. How many times have we seen a professional athlete get knocked out and try to soldier on. They do this even though they clearly have no idea where they are or even what their name is.

Thankfully, this serious matter is now being handled with the care and concern that it deserves, with coaches and medical staff far more aware of its severity today compared to 15 or 20 years ago.
